Located in a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly building, American Truck Group, LLC, employs over 80 people in Gulfport, Mississippi. Specializing in the sale of late-model Class 8 rigs, American Truck Group features Freightliner, Volvo, Peterbilt, Mack, and Kenworth models. The new 25,000-square-foot facility has a 20-bay service shop, full parts department, and a commercial truck wash with a closed loop system for recycling used water.

Open Monday through Saturday, American Truck Group has been in business for over 10 years. Recognizing the importance of the trucking industry to the U.S. economy, the company creates opportunities for American truckers to get behind the wheel of their own big rigs. The firm sells used semitrailers to owner/operators through an innovative No Credit Check program called the Golden Rental Program.

In addition to supporting truckers who have experienced financial difficulties, American Truck Group works to create the next generation of Class 8 technicians and service professionals. Working in tandem with Harrison Central High School, the company founded an apprenticeship program to provide training for students interested in careers in the transportation industry. Students learn how to rotate wheels, perform brake jobs, change oil, inspect suspension systems, and diagnose engine problems. At the end of the apprentice program, successful students will receive a certificate from the company and become eligible for full-time employment.

The firm is a proud supporter of various charities and nonprofit groups, including the Boys and Girls Club. This season, the company held a special Christmas Party for the boys and girls. The party featured the arrival by Santa riding a sleigh on the back of a red Volo truck. Over 100 children enjoyed Santa along with games, gifts, and food.
