Like any successful entrepreneur, Dave Herbig identified a need and set about finding a way to satisfy it. His son had joined the Cub Scouts, and Dave Herbig and his wife, Danita Delimont, became involved as Assistant Cub Master and Den Leader, respectively. The couple fielded a number of complaints about the difficulty of sewing badges on uniforms and noticed some parents delayed tackling the inconvenient task. In 2004, after two years of intense research and development, Mr. Herbig introduced Badge Magic, a revolutionary peel-and-stick fabric-adhesive technology. Made in America by Skills Inc. of Seattle, which finds jobs for and trains individuals with disabilities, Badge Magic works mainly with professionals with Scouting backgrounds.

Utilized by the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, The American Legion, Awana Clubs International, and other organizations, Badge Magic adheres through 40 to 75 or more laundry cycles, yet users can remove the badges at will without leaving unattractive hems or stitch marks. If the edge of a badge comes off of a uniform, reattachment requires only a small amount of adhesive from an adhesive sheet.

While Dave Herbig focuses mainly on Badge Magic, Danita Delimont owns and operates Danita Delimont Stock Photography, which represents several international agencies and more than 300 top photographers. The agency offers world-class images of natural habitats, animals, and global travel destinations. Another brainchild of the couple, Delimont, Herbig and Associates, creates and produces Digital Art Shows on DVD, showcasing stunning nature and lifestyle photography set to inspirational music.
