Know all about the e-liquids

E-liquid is the fluid which fuels the vape devices and e-cigarettes. It is responsible for the flavoring in your electronic cigarette and also provides the nicotine solution.
E-liquid is also sometimes known as e-juice or vape juice. The function of the e-liquid remains the same irrespective of the name, i.e. the liquid is heated to the point that it becomes a vapor, which is then inhaled. This is also the process of vaping.
You should know that smoke and vapor are different. The by-product of burning is smoke. Whereas, vapor is the by-product of heating. It is the same as the water being heated by a kettle to produce steam. E-liquid as well as the current from the battery is passed through the coil, which results in the e-liquid being heated to produce vapor. This vapor, which you exhale imitates the traditional smoke from the traditional cigarette.
What are they made of?
There are base ingredients in e-liquids which help to create the smooth flavor. When you use an electronic cigarette device, the base fluids are responsible for the occurrence of smoke simulations. The other ingredients are flavoring and nicotine. E-liquids may contain nicotine, but some are also nicotine free. They are also offered in different strengths of nicotine.
The base can consist of Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerin (VG) or both. Most of the e-liquids have mixes containing 70% PG and 30 % VG to 50% PG and VG. They are also combined with artificial or natural flavors such as apple or vanilla. It results in unique and satisfying recipes. A combined base of PG and VG blend is smoother in comparison to 100% PG base.
The two bases have been described below:
Propylene Glycol (PG): You will find that majority of the e-liquids are PG based. So, it is the current dominating liquid base. It generally produces sweeter juices, and less vapor. Moreover, PG is also non-toxic.
Propylene Glycol has been used in asthma inhalers and nebulizers since the 1950s due to its property of retaining water. Additionally, it is also the compound of choice for delivering atomized medication. It is also used as a flavoring carrier in food products, as an additive in various medicines, and as an ingredient in food coloring.
PG is included in the list of substances Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Moreover, it also meets the requirements of compounds which are acceptable within the Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
Vegetable Glycerin: Vegetable Glycerin or VG is a thick, vegetable based liquid. It tends to be less sweet and produces more vapor. It is non-toxic.
However, a combination of PG and VG blend is always recommended. Since, 100% VG is thicker than Propylene Glycol and so, it is hard to smoke effectively. It is mixed with PG to give it more consistency and to be more soluble.
What are the benefits of e-liquids?
There are many benefits of e-liquids. Few of them are given below:
· There are a wide variety of flavors available in e-liquids. So you can choose your favorite flavor of e-liquids and also keep experimenting with the flavors which suits your taste.
· If you want to quit smoking, switching to e-liquids are the best way to do so.
· E-liquids do not produce any smoke. So, you can get rid you of the smoke odor with e-liquids.
· You do not need to carry any lighters or ashtrays for electronic cigarettes. Since, e-cigarettes do not have a flame and do not produce any ashes or butts.
Different types of flavors:
E-liquids are available in hundreds of different flavors nowadays. For example, menthol, regular tobacco, etc. Beginners often starts with these flavor varieties and then move into sweet and fruity blends. You also get the option between food flavors from the traditional vanilla, cigar, coffee flavors to the more exotic flavors such as mango, strawberry, watermelon, etc.
Almost every e-juice company offers certain basic flavors such as cherry, chocolate, cinnamon and grape. Therefore, there are many unique and popular e-juice flavors to choose from. You may have experimented with a wide range of flavors if you are an experienced vaper.
