Avoid Travel Disasters: Vacation And Your Smile

By Dentacare Dental Group Longview

04/20/2017 While forgetting your toothbrush might not sound like much of a travel disaster, there’s something about showing up to your destination without the things you need for your oral health that can cause some serious frustration. Perhaps getting a replacement for whatever you left behind isn’t easy. Maybe you check into your hotel very late. Maybe now your usual nightly treatment will be impossible for two weeks! You get the idea. Avoid such issues with some simple suggestions.

Create A Checklist (Check It Twice)Keep your oral health habits exactly as they are by starting off with a checklist. Before you start shopping or prepping or packing, write out the things you need for your smile care. Remember that everything you do at home you will want to continue doing while you travel. Toothbrush? Dental Floss? Toothpaste? Sleep apnea appliance? Partial denture? Write them all down and check them off as you pack.
Shop And Pack EarlyDon’t wait until fifteen minutes before you leave for the airport to shop and pack. Start early, so you have time to tie up loose ends without a panic. Discovering your partial is damaged, for example, is much easier to deal with two weeks in advance of your trip than it is moments before.
See Us Before You LeaveIt’s always a good idea to schedule an oral health visit with us if you anticipate some serious travel. We can address any decay or other issues, so you can enjoy vacation without a sudden toothache or other unexpected trauma.
