Hearing Central LLC, was founded by Edward Maznio, a licensed hearing aid specialist. He grew up a rural farm boy in northern Minnesota where he was taught that true happiness and success comes when serving others.
Edward found his path to entrepreneurship after seeing his mother struggle with purchasing and using hearing aids. He worked to build a large, nine-office chain of hearing centers to offer a better solution. There he pioneered the “Complete Concierge”, “ShareCare”, video tutorials, real-life fitting demonstrations and simplified hearing-aid selection tools. Many of these innovations have since been adopted by other mainstream hearing aid retailers.
As wholesale prices of hearing aids continue to rise, he took his mission online and started selling refurbished aids via the internet. He found there was a huge demand and his online customers were so thrilled with this alternative, affordable resource for hearing aids that they began calling him “The HERO!” He saw the opportunity to better serve those with hearing loss and decided to expand his online business… appropriately calling it TheHEARO.
Subsequently, Edward chose to sell his hearing aid stores, purchase Hearing Central and live a much simpler life of service. TheHEARO and now, Hearing Central, are helping more people achieve better hearing at affordable prices each year than his full-service offices had.
Edward now serves his community through work with his local Christian congregation, as a charter member of his local Lions Club, and as Vice President and Hearing Committee Chairman for the Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation. He and his wife of 22 years, Shanna, enjoy traveling and spending quality time with their three children.
Edward attended college at DeVry University and later served a tour of active duty in Saudi Arabia with the U.S. Army during Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm.
