Masha Banar
Masha Banar is Board Certified PA in the state of Massachusetts. She has completed Northeastern University Physician Assistant Program and gained her surgical qualifications at Boston Medical Center Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During her residency at one of the largest and busiest hospitals in Boston, she has covered hand trauma and emergency call, consulted patients in inpatient and outpatient settings, and was involved in multiple plastic and reconstructive surgical cases.

She has refined her surgical technique further with Harvard-trained Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Joseph Russo of Newton, Massachusetts. Dr. Russo has been in practice for over 20 years and is her mentor and medical director JosephaRussoMD.com

What is a PA?

Physician Associate or Physician Assistant (PA) is a medical provider with advanced surgical and clinical training and education. PAs must successfully complete both undergraduate as well as graduate medical education programs. As a result, PAs have on average completed at least seven years of formal education in addition to their clinical training. To be certified, PAs must have a Masters degree from an accredited program, must have successfully completed a standard number of clinical hours in their specialty area of practice, and like Physicians must pass a written board exam. In addition PAs have to complete 100 hours of continuing medical education yearly and to re-take board exam every 5 years to maintain the certification.
