This month I will have been at HKM for 9 years. I'm incredibly happy working alongside other lawyers and legal professionals who have devoted their careers to employee rights. I love being at a firm where I am fully accepted, my creative ideas are welcomed, and there are enough seats at the table for all of us. Know someone who might want to join us? #dowhatyoulove #hkm

Cynthia Sánchez from our Denver office posted this important article. We fight for equality for our clients, but our cases are usually extreme examples of inequality. It is important to remember that inequality is baked into the structure of how we exist and move through the world. True advocates see this and push back even when it hasn't escalated to a lawsuit. Thank you for posting Cynthia.
"Professionalism was based on the notion that one withstood microaggressions and bias with grace and lightheartedness. The higher the threshold one had to tolerate bias, the more polished the attorney or paralegal appeared." This essay by Leah Goodridge helped me rethink my unconscious bias about what 'professionalism' means.
