We met with Dr. Julie Ewasiuk, a pediatrician from South Lake Pediatrics in Minneapolis, MN, to gather some information for parents to learn more about water safety. "Water safety is one of the things we talk about regularly, starting with infants. As soon as they get mobile, there's a risk – drowning is the second-leading cause of death for toddlers. Meet Marisa! 👋 Marisa Fraley is our Instructional Designer at our School Support Center in Eden Prairie, MN. After many years in the education field, Marisa made the switch to instructional design. She has found that like education, instructional design is constantly evolving. "I have learned an incredible amount in my time as an ID at FOSS, but there is still so much left for me to learn. IDs must stay informed about the latest research, tools, and best practices. Excitement for continuous, life-long learning is key in this field!" Thank you for all you do, Marisa! The weather is warming up, meaning the event season is picking up again! Attending events is one of our favorite ways to get involved with our communities. Our school leaders do a fabulous job getting their teams together to support their local communities at various events. It's a great way for our teams to meet members of their community and spread awareness about water safety, swim lessons, and Foss Swim School. We are excited to kick off the 2024 event season! We are proud to announce that USA Swimming Foundation awarded Foss Swim School $10,000 in learn-to-swim grants. 🎉 This partnership with USA Swimming will provide swim students with the necessary funds to learn to swim. Swimming is a life-long, lifesaving, and life-enriching skill, and we are thrilled that this award will go towards our continued efforts to provide free and reduced-cost swim lessons. Foss Swim School was chosen as one of 124 youth programs from the USA Swimming Foundation's nationwide network of swim lesson providers to receive grant money in 2024. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others and creating a safer and more inclusive aquatic environment. #FossSwimSchool #SwimScholarship
