Struggling to keep up with AI trends? Our EDU community recently started a regular AI Digest led by one of our brilliant engineers, Ilya Roger! "Our goal is to expand our engineers' knowledge of the latest trends in artificial intelligence. This market is changing at the speed of light, and there isn't always time to catch all the major technology threads yourself. That's what the AI Digest is for!" The last meeting topics involved deep fakes and prompts that mimic GPT models. So, what's next? "We are preparing for an interview with the head of our AI Group, Glyn Roberts, on Vention's development strategy in this area. We will also focus on short presentations on major news in the field — for example, the launch of ChatGPT 4.0. Personally, I'd also like to touch on social changes that will come with AI becoming our dominant tool in life," Ilya adds. Ilya's work with AI actually began with a personal project he cooked up! "I wanted to know the top 10 recipes from other countries. I could have searched the web for months, but I wrote an algorithm that generated prompts instead. That's how I gathered 1,500 recipes from 150 countries. You can find them at chefgpt.co!" Ilya also worked for a major German news agency, where multiple AI tools were used to check images for veracity and plagiarism. What does AI's immediate future look like from Ilya's perspective? "I see a big push toward agents that can perform certain tasks for us. Just like Devin in the IT world. Every month, our Happiness Managers (greets to Valeryia Zhaludkova) and HR create a well-being calendar with activities ranging from healthy snack days to sports challenges. For instance, we recently organized a walking challenge where we counted our steps and calculated the total distance covered. We were proud to find out that we walked two-thirds of the Earth’s equator!  In addition to vacation days and floating holidays, we also enjoy 4 additional days off per year. I'm super excited to share that we are organizing another 'Founders Summit' event - this time in London. The conference is tailored for 40 founders of software houses that offer outsourcing or digital product development services in the UK. You can look forward to hearing from Carl Uminski (CI&T) who will share how he co-founded a software house Somo Global which he grew to £30M with 300 employees, and how they later got acquired by CI&T. Anna Martynenka from Vention (3000+ engineers) will open up about how she built the UK branch of Vention ($0- 25M in 4 years) and Richard Bundock from Cohaesus will discuss how he buys software houses and how M&A works in this industry. Finally, I will also run a small workshop about selling, pitching, and winning development projects with limited resources.
