About us
The Community Foundation of Boone County was formed by a group of passionate and caring Boone County residents who wanted to build resources that would benefit nonprofits and residents of Boone County forever. In 1991, with their support, $15,000, and funds from Lilly Endowment Inc., the Community Foundation of Boone County was established. Today, CFBC holds more than $30 million in assets and has granted over $28 million from its various funds to nonprofit organizations and programs working to solve critical challenges in Boone County. We engage the community and educate citizens on how they can make a difference here at home. We invest in the people, programs, and organizations that transform lives and communities. We lead a vision for collaborative solutions to address the root causes of challenges facing our community in diverse & equitable ways.

Let's connect with Isaiah 117! 💛 When children are removed from their homes out of concern for their safety, they are usually brought to a child welfare services office to await placement. Isaiah 117 provides a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait – a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. This space allows children to receive the comfort and care they need while child welfare staff can do the necessary paperwork and identify a good placement.
