A creative partner for imaginative brands who dare to dream.

About us

Let’s have some fun shall we? After all, that’s what we’re about. That’s why the crew here (and hopefully you) got into this crazy biz. And it’s why you’re gonna love working with us; because it never feels like work. NeoPangea is focused on WE. Not us against them, which has permeated agencies since the dawn of advertising. We’re a creative partner for imaginative brands like you, who dare to dream...and dream big. To be heroic. To be the first to walk across the rickety bridge over a crocodile-infested ravine. To do things your competitors want to steal. For this particular creative misfit collective, that’s our battle cry. It drives us to create work that’s never humdrum or wishy-washy. We’re not, you’re not, so the end result shouldn’t be either. What do we do? Microsites. Games. VR. AR. Digital. Social. Who do we do it for? Brands. TV Networks. Museums. Start ups. Anyone who wants to join us on a creative journey and have fun (there, we said it again) with people you genuinely love being around. Who do we NOT do it for? Jargon-embracing bores who love vanilla, worship buzzwords, and want to be schmoozed. We’re NeoPangea. Let’s do something great, together.

Get ready with me (GRWM) as we lock up for the day at Headquarters! We’re massive believers in using padlocks, claw traps and iron-reinforced vault doors as part of our nighttime closing routine. Galvanized steel chains make the perfect wrap for a barricaded door, don't you agree? I love to shake out rolls of barbed wire around the perimeter. Doing that little insider hack cleanses my aura, and instantly energizes me. I’ve always loved to hear that rattle of uncoiling fence line! 🤷♂️ Thankfully The Purge AR, a NeoPangea developed AR game, has this unique ability to blend the world of the TV series with the real space around our headquarters. The team collaborates inside the game features to safeguard the doors and windows and set traps before calling it quits at 6:30PM. What's more fulfilling than a shared experience, safeguarding a studio with a coworker? Armed with advanced ARCore and ARKit capabilities, when we (and fans) aren’t reinforcing our property, the app immerses us in the USA Network series: "The Purge," and all the terrifying possible reality that happens, including (gulp) murder! Get ready with us next time as we prepare for the undead apocalypse! #ARCore #USANetworks #ARKit2 #animations #barricades #propoganda #multiplayerAR #Arexperiences #multipledevice #ARenvironments #Dev #ThePurge

Cheetahs never prosper when playing Nat Geo’s Safari Bingo 🙊 In collaboration with National Geographic, we created Wild Safari Live, a massive multiplayer game of animal "Bingo." Viewers watched online as the majesty of a first-person safari streamed live right from their devices. Streaming a live safari to the entire planet is an incredible undertaking, and maximizing on this endeavor requires getting as many viewers involved as possible. This special "Safari Bingo" event added an element of friendly competition to the broadcast binge event, Wild Safari Live. Turning viewers mobile devices into interactive bingo cards enabled living rooms across the globe to feel more like an African Pride Land. Viewers who participated even had a chance to win a real-life safari expedition! Streaming an African savannah across the world, you never know what you might encounter. We designed and developed web experiences using a custom CMS allowing a technical director to control the website content and Bingo cards in real time, making Safari Bingo a surprising, gamified experience for binge watchers to enjoy. The interactivity of a live safari, and a live bingo game helped deliver on viewer metrics such as, sustaining user time on site and attracting larger viewer watch hours. We made the web-experience as interactive as we could. One cheetah spot short of being in Namibia yourself, this was the ticket to see Lions living out loud on either your phone or your desktop. It was so successful that Wild Safari Live Bingo was brought back year after year. Reactivations like Safari Bingo offer our partners an opportunity to take concepts and ideas that have proven success, and re-package those inventions for a new or returning audience. A few 40-something exhibition planners and a 2300-year-old corpse. Sight is a powerful way to experience the world. Looking at 4 walls and explaining an idea is a much different experience than truly seeing an image mapped into a virtual space. When developing a previsualization for Nefrina, a theatrical exhibition that tells the story of young woman and her life in ancient Egypt, our team presented a virtual reality walk-through, representative of a proposed floorplan renovation. Intricate details of the proposed final exhibition were not only discussed, but experienced, without ever having swung a hammer. With the power of virtual design planning, our team helped envision the visitors experience and improve traffic flow bottlenecks within the virtual framework, before major renovations began. If you’ve ever had to coordinate exhibition casts, animatronics and artifacts, you know they’re extremely light and indelicate. 😂 The virtual planning processes helps stimulate the same emotions of a final experience. With all the time saving, it goes without saying that Nefrina is also pretty pleased, because after 2300 years -- that girl only wants to be moved one time! #visitorexperience #virtualenvironments #immersivescenery #virtualelements #interactiveelements #userjourney #previsualization #museumexhibitions #museumexhibitionplanning #exhibitionplanning #nefrina

Taking the complexity out of animating static key art… We are no strangers to making static art move. When provided art that’s layered with multiple effects, it’s important to have a process to break those files down into a simplified structure to streamline animation and versioning. For Mayor of Kingstown, we had a variety of out of home deliverables that needed to be animated. The first step was assessing how large we wanted to make our base render so that it could work across all final deliverables. We landed on a 6000x4000 render of our base key art without titling. This gave us padding to accommodate all the variations we would need to output. Having a base render helps speed up output vs doing each deliverable individually which is crucial when you are under tight deadlines, as we were when Jeremy had his accident and had a few days to update everything we created to remove blood that was in the original art. When we received the layered Photoshop art, there were masked color correction and effects layers that worked great for static art. Unfortunately, that layer complexity does not translate well to animation. Our first step was to identify the layers we needed to isolate and work with our animation team to give them flexibility, while simplifying the file to make it easier to work with. These layers included the sky, smoke and fire that we knew we would want to turn into animated effects. From there we had a base background with a left and right side as well as Jeremy Renner in the foreground. It is important when isolating the layers and merging the complex effects to maintain the integrity of the initial art. To achieve this, we typically save the initial art as a primary layer to toggle between as we merge assets. This allows us to verify simplification holds up step by step. Once we consolidated the art to what was needed, the layers were imported into After Effects. We utilized a simple camera move to add depth to the scene and replaced the targeted effect layers with motion assets and added simple floating embers. Upon review, we felt something was missing and that is the beauty of animating key art. What works as a still may not work once you take everything provided to you and animate the pieces that make sense. We did not want to distract from the focus on Jeremy Renner but felt the animation needed an additional layer that could enhance the storytelling. We landed on adding pieces of burning paper falling in front and behind him that could motivate the logo and type animations that would be added to each deliverable separately. The process allowed us to rapidly output deliverables once base animation was approved. This was paramount when we had to pivot to new art of Jeremy. Our approach created efficiencies that allowed us to update one file, re-render and re-deliver all units against timely deadlines to be sensitive to the situation and replace assets already running in market.

We’re sharing our secret handshake this week at AAM in Baltimore! 👏 Share a craft beverage, coffee or artisanal water with us at the 2024 AAM Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo Program and discuss the future of interactive storytelling in museums. If you spot us (we’ll be the ones drooling over the exhibitors 🤤) be sure to ask us about our take-anywhere interactive AR experience. It's even more top secret than our handshake, but we're willing to share! #americanallianceofmuseums American Alliance of Museums Emily Rhinehart Brett Bagenstose Teresa Van Wagner Laura Sutphen
