If you're a people-pleaser, you might be known for doing whatever it takes to make others happy. Although being kind and helpful is generally a good thing, going too far to please others can leave you emotionally depleted, stressed, and anxious. #peoplepleasing #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness

The Counseling Center Group uses a variety of techniques to help improve the quality of life for all.
About us
The professionals at The Counseling Center of Maryland use a variety of techniques to help improve the quality of life for individuals, couples, groups, and families. Through our strength-based and collaborative approach, we offer new insights that enable our clients to see things from different perspectives. We provide treatment and counseling for anxiety, depression, grief, emotional regulation issues, self-esteem, relationship concerns, and parenting. Through active and evidenced-based strategies we help empower our clients to make new choices and evoke positive change. Together, we will look at feelings, thoughts and behaviors as vehicles to positive change using techniques from empirically proven interventions including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cyclical psychodynamics, intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness.

We’ll keep sharing this post until the word “committed” is no longer used in conjunction with suicide. People can die from the unbearable weight of life, people can die from broken hearts, and people can die from not understanding how to navigate a complicated mental health system. People do not, however, commit suicide. Suicide is not a crime. People die by suicide. Let’s update our language and fight to improve our mental health system. Mental health support and improved access to better treatment *IS* suicide prevention. 💚 NAMI ___ #wordsmatter #suicideawareness #endthestigma #suicideprevention #languagematters #suicideawareness #important #reminder #depression #notalone #depressionawareness #depressionhelp #anxiety #anxietyawareness #stopthestigma #yourenotalone #endstigma #stigmafree #stigma #stigmafighter #supportsaveslives #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth #ptsd #trauma #mentalillness #bipolar #mentalillnessawareness #knowledgeispower

When you need help managing painful events and emotions, radical acceptance, a DBT mindfulness skill, may be used as your guide. Radical Acceptance is accepting reality as it is, all the way, complete and total with your mind, your heart and your body. The goals of reality acceptance skills are to reduce suffering and increase a sense of freedom through coming to terms with the facts of one’s life. Remember, you don’t have to like something to accept that it is the reality at this time. Radical Acceptance is getting out of the fight with yourself. #radicalacceptance #mentalhealth #DBTskills #DialeticalBehaviorTherapy #DBT
