Grand Forks Veterans Memorial Park honors those who served
Memorial Granite Wall, designed by area artist Greg Vettel, offers a visual story line that captures U.S. military history and area veterans’ contributions.As a friendly reminder, when traveling this Memorial Weekend please purchase any firewood where you plan to burn it. And never transport unused firewood as this could spread invasive tree killing pests like the Emerald Ash Borer.

EAB spreads slowly on its own but can be moved long distances in firewood and ash nursery stock. To help prevent the spread, please buy your firewood from local sources or use certified heat-treated firewood.

Emerald Ash Borer Awareness week is May 20-27, 2024. The Emerald Ash Borer is an invasive insect that attacks and kills all kinds of ash tree species.
Throughout the week the Grand Forks Park District will post EAB facts and ways to help protect our trees.

Did You Know:
A Miyawaki Forest will grow 10x as fast as a forest planted using conventional methods. It will grow to be 30x denser and provide 20x more biodiversity than a conventionally planted forest.
Congratulations to Liz Mattson from Wy's Floral on winning People's Choice in the First Annual Best In Bloom Floral Competiton! This competition took place last Saturday in partner with the Grand Forks Horticulture Society.
