The former leader of Thailand’s progressive opposition Move Forward party has vowed to keep fighting as the party faces a court case that could result in its dissolution. The Constitutional Court has agreed to rule on whether the party violated the constitution by proposing to amend a law that forbids defaming the country’s royal family. The petition requested the party’s dissolution and a 10-year ban on political activity by its executives. The court has not said when it will rule on this case. Pita Limjaroenrat, the former leader of Move Forward, laid out the details of the party’s legal defenses at a news conference on Sunday. “If there is a rule of law in Thailand, I’m extremely confident” the party’s arguments will prevail, he said.

Bulgarians are choosing a new parliament Sunday while also participating in European Union elections that have been overshadowed by domestic political instability and economic inequality. There are worries that voter fatigue and wide disillusionment with politicians who do not fulfill promises to fight corruption and introduce reforms could result in a low turnout and another fragmented parliament. Preliminary results are expected Monday in the voting for the 240 seats in the National Assembly and for 17 members in the European Parliament.

During his playing days, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says, he would not have volunteered to be interviewed on live television in the middle of a major league game. But he doesn’t fault Los Angeles third baseman Kiké Hernández for making an error Friday night as he was speaking with broadcasters on the Apple TV+ telecast in the second inning at Yankee Stadium. Roberts says he understands in-game interviews are part of sports now, so he picks his battles and has no plans to talk to Hernández about it. He says he knows Hernández likes the limelight and social media and wants to build his brand, but Hernández prepares well and plays hard so he's OK with it.
