Summer Congregational Meeting: Sunday, June 9th at 12:00 pm

The UUCB Board of Trustees is calling a special congregational meeting on June 9, 2024, at noon (after the service) to present and discuss the following matters:

  • Approval of a ministerial search committee – we will present those we are nominating for the ministerial search committee for congregational approval.
  • Adoption of a covenant – the covenant creation team has taken church feedback to draft versions of a potential covenant, which they will present.
  • These are significant matters for the future of our church, and we appreciate your attendance and participation in this meeting!

The Self Advocacy Association of New York State (SANYS) is run by and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Started over 35 years ago by people who lived in New York state institutions, our mission is to speak up for ourselves and others. We teach people with I/DD how to advocate for themselves, both individually and systemically, start self-advocacy groups, and host local gatherings and conferences. Self-advocates trained and supported by SANYS have consulted with the UUCB on the recent plans to make the church more accessible, successfully advocated for a City of Buffalo ADA Coordinator, and won $750,000 for the NFTA to study paratransit expansion and improvements.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

    Our Vision

to radically transform the world in which we live.
