Shimon Kohn
Attorney
Shimon has been fighting for client’s rights for over 24 years. Previously having served as a Deputy District Attorney in Teller and El Paso Counties he prosecuted felony, misdemeanor, and traffic violations. Shimon has been admitted to the Colorado Bar since 2000 and the Federal Bar since 2003. He graduated from the Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 1999 with his Juris Doctorate degree.

Shimon established the Kohn Law Firm so that he could advocate for client’s rights when it comes to crimes such as: first degree assault, murder, financial crimes, domestic violence, and anything in between. Shimon has been a pillar of the legal community in Colorado Springs for over two decades and during that time he has recieved acquittals for many clients in cases that involve charges for domestic violence, sexual assault, attempted murder, drug charges, and assault. Shimon defense counsel on the last death penalty case in Colorado after the moratorium was passed and signed by the Governor of Colorado.

Julian Rosielle
Attorney
Prior to joining The Kohn Law Firm Julian was a Deputy State Public Defender for 12 years. During his experience as a Public Defender, Julian gained a wealth of experience taking well over 100 cases to trial. Julian is an adept trial lawyer and has achieved not guilty verdicts on multiple sexual assault, drug distribution, and assault cases as well as first-degree murder charges. He is currently the only private attorney in practice in El Paso County to have tried a death penalty case prior to the State of Colorado moratorium.

In addition to his extensive experience trying cases, Julian is also well-versed in DNA science, a critical component of modern criminal law. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Biochemistry from Evergreen State College and prior to starting law school, he worked at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center utilizing DNA technology. Julian was selected to conduct state-wide training in DNA for both attorneys and investigators employed by the Public Defender’s Office.
Julian understands what is important when defending clients rights in criminal cases. With over 17 years of experience advocating for client’s rights and protecting those rights, he is well versed in what is needed to take a case to trial or how to be aggressive in negotiations with the District Attorney’s Office to achieve the right results for his clients.
