On October 10, 2023 the Kendallville Public Library Board of Trustees moved to proceed with the goal of updating and repairing the Kendallville Public Library (est. 2007) and its Limberlost Branch (est. 1997). These already beautiful facilities are due for maintenance and updates to meet the needs of our communities. Please help us invest in the future by taking these two short surveys, so that in the next fifteen to twenty years we can offer even better services and functionality that we can all be proud of.
Enjoy Summer with the Kendallville Public Library by participating in our Summer Adventure Reading Challenge - Lake and Land! Beginning June 3, youth and adults may stop by either library branch to pick up their Summer Reading materials. Adults will get a bookmark to track their minutes read or programs attended and once completed, return it to the library to pick up your KPL or LB water bottle! All participants will be awarded a prize for their first completed bookmark. Every completed bookmark counts as an entry for one of our grand prizes - so complete multiple bookmarks to increase your chances of winning! Adults have the chance to win a bike, Zoo Bucks or kayak.
Youth will be given a board game to complete. These can be picked up at either library branch where you can also learn how to complete the game. Youth can earn up to six prizes and enter into the grand prize drawings unlimited times. Some of our grand prizes are a Tonie Box, Gesture Sensing Stunt Car, a Drone and more!

The last time we conducted our READ (Reading, Education and Discovery) fundraising campaign was back in 2020. Then, we began the letter to supporters with “The Kendallville Public Library is engaging with the community like never before.” Little did we know then how even more true that would be now!
Every day we strive to bring new initiatives to our community to improve the quality of life for those around us. We’re partnering with local organizations to deepen the impact we have on the people we serve. We live here, we work here, and we are doing all we can to help the area thrive.

In addition to passes to Science Central and the Botanical Conservatory, KPL has added a Family Pass to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in Auburn. This pass is good for up to 2 adults at the same address and their dependent children.
In the museum, most of the cars are drivable and many are in carefully-restored condition. The museum has a state-of-the-art Collections Conservation Center that was completed in 2015 to support the care and preservation of this priceless collection.

The Kendallville Public Library now has Notary Service available.
A Notary Public is an individual commissioned by the State of Indiana to serve as an impartial witness and fraud deterrent for legally significant documents such as property deeds, marriage licenses and adoption papers. Notaries defer fraud by verifying individuals’ identity and ensuring that all parties understand the contents of the documents they sign.

You can start to learn up to 30 different languages - for free - through INSPIRE, Indiana's Virtual Library. The Indiana State Library has teamed up with Rosetta Stone to offer the basic course in the language of your choice. You can access INSPIRE through KPL's website at www.kendallvillelibrary.org.
