Since 1926, Camp Chipinaw has provided fun-filled summers for campers ages 7 through 17. Nestled in the Catskill Mountains near Bethel, New York, Camp Chipinaw’s picturesque wooded setting and 96-acre private lake set the stage for a wide variety of summer activities. Located just two hours northwest of New York City, Camp Chipinaw offers full eight-week sessions at its main campus, as well as four-week sessions at its adjoining Chipinaw at Silver Lake campus.

Campers and counselors at Camp Chipinaw reside in wooden cabins, with 7 to 10 campers to 2 counselors in each. Cabins include electricity, hot and cold running water, and recently remodeled bathrooms and showers. Camp Chipinaw employs more than 300 staff members each summer at its original and Silver Lake campuses, and Camp Directors Michael and Shari Baer oversee the hiring of dedicated, responsible, and fun-loving individuals from locations around the world, including England, New Zealand, Australia, Turkey, Colombia, and Mexico. In addition, many staff members are former Chipinaw campers themselves.

Camp Chipinaw provides campers with a modern camp experience in a traditional setting by honoring its rich history as a summer camp while continually updating its activities and facilities. Campers at Chipinaw have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities, including team and individual sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, football, skateboarding, karate, fencing, and boxing, as well as visual and performing arts such as painting, leather craft, woodworking, theater, and radio broadcasting. Camp Chipinaw’s unique Circus program enables campers to improve their coordination and confidence by learning to walk on stilts, ride a unicycle, or use the camp’s flying trapeze, among other activities.

In addition, Camp Chipinaw is home to a stable and extensive riding trails, providing campers the opportunity to learn both Western and English riding styles as well as how to care for the horses. A lighted and heated swimming pool and private lakefront offer a host of fun-filled options including diving and scuba diving, sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, and water-skiing.
