My family got our first dog when I was 14 years old, he was an American Pitbull Terrier named Capone. At first we weren’t sure what to expect as the breed was & still is heavily stigmatized. People in our neighborhood would cross the street when they saw us walking, or ask questions about dog fighting – We knew nothing about dog fighting, or much about the breed at the time. All we knew was that we loved our Capone – He was the most loving companion any family could ask for.
Over the years Capone experienced many ups & downs with our family from high school & college graduation, to tragedy & disease. Although our lives were always in motion, the love and loyalty felt from our Capone was constant for almost 15 years.
In late 2017, near the age of 13 Capone started experiencing urinary problems, and was having a harder time walking. Our usual fast paced walks and runs became slow, but peaceful strolls through the only neighborhood he ever knew.
During that time, doctors diagnosed Capone with bladder cancer & gave him 6 months to live – We were devastated. My Mom & Dad began researching ways to make the last months of his life less painful, and more enjoyable. They found this thing called “CBD”.
We started administering CBD sublingually twice daily for over a year, and the results were amazing. Capone ended up living over a year and half longer than the vets expected, and the CBD brought relief to our best friend when he needed it most.
