Christ Church Kirkland allows residents throughout Washington State to form a connection with God and one another. Starting its life as a home group ministry in 1972, the community of believers quickly expanded under the guidance of its founder Pastor Norm Willis, who remains the group's leader. By the end of its first year, almost 50 people were attending Pastor Norm’s sermons.

As the congregation grew, special ministries were created to offer new avenues for personal growth and fellowship. In 1985, the group moved to Carl Sandburg Elementary School and welcomed 140 people at its first service as Christ Church Kirkland. During the early 1990s, the church had to relocate again due to its large number of parishioners, and it converted a former office building into a temple.

Since then, Christ Church Kirkland has remained an active presence in the Kirkland, Washington, community. Christ-centered, the church encourages others to understand the importance of an intimate relationship with Jesus. It believes in God as the Father with humans as His children and inspires its followers to instill this value in their children. The congregation advocates concepts such as diversity, parental responsibility, Christian education, and the Bible as the abiding source of truth regarding faith and practice.To accomplish its goals, Christ Church Kirkland sponsors several ministries that teach students about these ideas.
