What Luke Brugnara Has Built in Downtown San Francisco
By the age of 32, Luke Brugnara had taken a major role in shaping San Francisco’s commercial landscape, holding more than 500,000 square feet of downtown property.
One of his most recent decisions shows how steady his activity remains. After finalizing the sale of 735 Market Street, Brugnara purchased 351 California Street, also known as the Pacific Bank Building. This move brought another historic address under his ownership and brought his total estimated holdings to close to 100 million dollars.
His entry into the market began at 28 with a calculated step. He acquired a 1.5 million dollar bankruptcy note attached to the Kress Building at 939 Market Street. That gave him the ability to secure a 3 million dollar loan and take full ownership. This was the starting point for what has become a wide presence in the city.
Since then, he has acquired several recognizable properties in the downtown area. These include the Bulletin Building on Mission Street, the Westinghouse Electric Building on Second Avenue, and the Royal Globe Insurance Building on Sansome Street. Each site has helped expand his footprint across the core of San Francisco.
The recent purchase of the Pacific Bank Building shows that Luke Brugnara is continuing to focus on high-visibility locations that carry both historical and commercial relevance.
