About Slateplate

We provide food safe hand-cut, unique, deep-black, dishwasher-safe slate cheese boards, with a large variety of sizes and custom engravings. Hand-made in the USA.
Slateplate came into being through geologic intervention. Slate is a fine-grain, foliated metamorphic rock formed under extreme pressure and heat conditions from sedimentary rocks such as shale, clay or ash. Slate is made by literally crushing and melting other softer rocks together.
