About Wholly Cow Ice Cream and Coffee

Established January 1984

Wholly Cow Ice Cream & Coffee is a family and veteran-owned small-batch creamery that’s been part of historic Charleston, SC since 1984. Known by many locals as one of the best ice cream shops in Charleston, we craft premium ice cream and sorbets made with real ingredients, no rBGH, and hand-stirred mix-ins that give every scoop its signature flavor. If you’re searching for the best ice cream in Charleston or exploring ice cream places in Charleston, SC, you’ll find Wholly Cow® served at top restaurants, hotels, and independent retailers throughout the Lowcountry — and at our flagship Wholly Cow Ice Cream & Coffee Shop on Johns Island. Guests love our nostalgic, Southern-inspired flavors like Charleston Sea Turtle, Banana Pudding, Southern Pecan Praline, Wild Strawberry, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, along with soft-serve ice cream and fruit-forward sorbets.
