ZZYZX Construction

Zzyzx Construction Utah. Based in Roy, Utah, we’re a residential general contractor specializing in aging-in-place remodeling, custom composite decks and outdoor living spaces, basement finishing, and major home renovations. We serve homeowners in Ogden, Layton, and surrounding communities across Weber, Davis, Morgan, and Salt Lake counties.

We work directly with homeowners and collaborate with their designers when a project calls for it. As the general contractor, we coordinate the trades and the sequence of work, from framing and mechanical rough-ins through cabinetry, tile, flooring, trim, and final finishes. We help you work through decisions that affect the budget and the finished result, including which walls may need structural review, how a new layout affects plumbing and lighting, and where custom storage can make better use of the space.

AGING-IN-PLACE AND ACCESSIBLE HOME REMODELING

We help homeowners make their homes easier to use now and as their needs change. Projects can include curbless showers, wider doorways, no-step entries, ramps, bathroom layouts with more maneuvering room, and wall reinforcement for grab bars. We plan these features around how you use your home and how you want it to look. If you’re already remodeling a bathroom or updating an entry, we can help you decide which improvements make sense to build in now.

CUSTOM COMPOSITE DECKS AND OUTDOOR LIVING

We build custom composite and wood decks, covered patios, pergolas, and outdoor living spaces. We start with how you want to use the space, whether that means dining outside, adding shade, or creating a better connection between the house and backyard. We consider the site grade, drainage, stair placement, railings, privacy, and lighting together. We also install wood and vinyl fencing and build concrete pads when the project calls for them.

BASEMENT FINISHING AND REMODELING

We finish and remodel basements for family rooms, guest spaces, home offices, bathrooms, and entertainment areas. The work starts with a layout that accounts for ceiling height, existing plumbing, ductwork, lighting, and storage. On projects with a sloped lot or an existing walkout, we can evaluate how the exterior access and grade affect the basement layout and scope.

KITCHENS, BATHROOMS, CUSTOM BUILT-INS, AND FINISH CARPENTRY

We remodel kitchens and bathrooms, from layout changes and new cabinetry to tile, flooring, lighting coordination, and finish work. We work with designers and specialty trades on custom cabinetry, built-in shelving, media walls, and other fitted storage. We coordinate those details early so outlets, lighting, drywall, and trim align with the cabinetry plan.

STRUCTURAL REMODELING, ADDITIONS, AND ACCESSORY BUILDINGS

We take on larger residential projects, including home additions, open-concept remodels, detached garages, and workshops. When a project involves changing a load-bearing wall, we coordinate the structural review needed to determine what’s feasible before construction. We discuss design, engineering, and permit needs during planning so those requirements can be reflected in the scope.

SERVICE AREA AND PROJECT INQUIRIES

We’re based in Roy and serve communities including Ogden, South Ogden, North Ogden, Riverdale, West Haven, Layton, Clearfield, Syracuse, Kaysville, Farmington, Bountiful, Mountain Green, and the Salt Lake City area.
