Empowering individuals suffering from Addiction & Mental Health Disorders, to celebrate life through lasting solutions!

About us

The Phoenix Recovery Center, LLC. is driven by the guiding mission statement of: “Empowering individuals and families suffering from addiction & mental health issues, to celebrate life through lasting solutions.” We accomplish the recovery experience through a continuum of care that begins with Residential Treatment and traverses across a Day Program, Intensive Outpatient (IOP), to General Outpatient (GOP). Lastly, the continuum of care culminates in a weekly Alumni Support Meeting, which provides a recovery support community to sustain the recovery capital of The Phoenix Alumni.

Our employee of the month for April is our evening receptionist, Marielle McDonald! She is just a ray of sunshine! Marielle is always willing to help in any way she can, and always wears a smile! She's excellent with clients and is super detail-oriented. This month is also her 2nd anniversary of working at The Phoenix! Marielle has grown so much during her time here and is so appreciated. The Phoenix would not be the same without her. She brightens up the atmosphere and makes everyone who passes her smile. She is a truly irreplaceable team member who is beyond sweet and always puts in her best effort. She deserves this acknowledgment! We love and appreciate you, Marielle!

  • It's now widely understood that there can be a direct connection between mania and substance use disorder. This is especially true with stimulant addiction and periods of binge drinking. The good news is that, with proper treatment, substance-induced mania can dissipate relatively quickly. For more information about drug and alcohol-induced mania, as well as how alcohol and substances can trigger mania in an individual who already struggles with it, please reach out to us today! https://lnkd.in/dQ3D78sD

  • Nutrient Replenishment During Alcohol Detox and Beyond Nutrition is so important to healing and recovery that it has actually spawned its own branch of therapy: Nutritional therapy. According to the journal titled The Journal for Nurse Practitioners, “Nutritional Therapy uses food to prevent and reverse diseases that plague most Western societies: diabetes, obesity, heart disease, arthritis, and depression. For food to be therapeutic, it must be nutrient-dense, measured in part by the nutrients and anti-nutrients, contained in consumed foods.” These “nutrient-dense” foods can aid in the process of recovery because they ensure that thiamine and folic acid levels stay at essential levels (among other vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants). Simply put, healthy dieting aids one’s mental health. For someone with AUD, having stable mental health is important to avoid getting consumed by negative emotions and potentially relapsing. • Recognizing the Signs of Alcoholism Many people may confuse the signs and symptoms of alcoholism. The signs of alcoholism have more to do with behaviors while the symptoms have more to do with the actual effects of the substance on the mind and body. Now, the following are just a few of the signs that someone may be struggling with alcoholism: 🍾 Once they start drinking, they have trouble stopping or moderating 🍾 They go past boundaries that they set for themselves regarding their drinking, such as I am only going to drink on the weekends 🍾 Missing work or school due to drinking or the subsequent hangovers 🍾 Drinking when they first wake up; “day drinking” 🍾 Becoming upset when there is no alcohol available 🍾 Disengaging with friends, family, and activities that they once enjoyed 🍾 Isolating away from loved ones so they can drink alone Now, there is a good possibility that if some of these warning signs are present, the symptoms of alcoholism are present too; or, they will be soon. • Year-Round Mental Health Awareness at The Phoenix Recovery Center Here at The Phoenix Recovery Center, we are proud to support Mental Health Awareness Month every May. However, we are also proud to advocate for recovery from mental illness and addiction year-round. It is our primary purpose and the reason that we do what we do day in and day out. The 17th-century English writer and theologian John Bunyan once wrote, “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” This is what mental health advocacy and Mental Health Awareness Month are about giving freely of ourselves without any expectations for anything in return. Ultimately, the more we do that, the better off we’ll all be, both as advocates and as people who are advocated for. Mental Health Awareness Month started in 1949. Since then, it has helped bring awareness about mental health to millions of people. It has also been a launching pad for many people to get involved and become mental health advocates. If you feel like you or someone you love is struggling with issues of mental illness, addiction, or both, we can help get you on the right road to long-term recovery. For more information on Mental Health Awareness Month, what it is, what it does, how to get involved, and how to keep staying involved in mental health advocacy the entire year round, please reach out to The Phoenix Recovery Center today at (801) 438-3185.
