Appointed by Supervisor Manuel Perez and serving along side two other County Supervisors as one of two representatives from the community. We are the financial arm for this gigantic environmental issue facing our region and our state.

I currently serve as the Membership Chair of the Desert Hospitality Accountants' Association of HFTP. We provide local scholarships for accounting students and I am on the Scholarship Committee. Our organization supports local hotels, Country Clubs, and other hospitality professionals in technology and/or accounting positions in the Coachella Valley.

Helping over 700 adults with disabilities find opportunities in employment, independent living, and social events throughout the Coachella Valley and high desert communities. My Board activities included Fund Development Committee Chair, Executive Committee Member, and Board Secretary.

I am a founding Board Member of this Foundation helping over 30,000 children in the Desert Sands School District. Focused on the "Bring your own Device" initiative of the District. Worked on several initial grant requests and inaugural signature fundraising events including the “Hike for Education” and holiday time fundraiser. I was instrumental in helping build the local alumni base of San Diego for UCSD. When I started as Alumni President in 2000, we had perhaps 15 or 20 people showing up to occasional mixers that didn't mingle or mix, much less talk to each other. By the time I left the post in 2005, we had over 250, recent and seasoned alumni, showing up regularly to local events and showing their pride as a Triton. The local alumni group has continued to grow in size, prestige, and support and I remain an avid… Show more

Formerly a Legislative Advocate for all ten campuses of the University of California system. Specifically, I represented UCSD as Alumni President for 5 years. Later, I also represented UC Riverside. Instrumental in agreement between Governor Schwarzenegger and UC concerning state funding cuts and continual tuition increases during the “Great Recession” making educational costs unaffordable. Education = jobs and innovation to the State. Win-Win.

Board oversees bond issues for the entire School District consisting of 25,000 students with dollars spent specifically, on facilities management and expansion. As the former Vice-Chair of this Committee, we actively reviewed bond dollars spent on projects including the Palm Springs High School auditorium remodel, solar projects throughout the district, Cathedral City High School's new pool, and Raymond Cree's HVAC system overhaul.

I suggested to the CEO of the organization at the time to start a monthly mixer for those that couldn’t make the lunch time meeting. It was met with wild success and it grew to a significant number of attendees. I also was on the Committee for the annual dinner and met many dignitaries.

Integral in member communications and setting up monthly meetings. Also involved in re-branding Palm Springs Lincoln Club.

I am pleased to have helped local accounting students pair up with local firms for part-time and seasonal placement that lead to long term positions in the tax and accounting field. It's a win-win for employers and these new graduates. I have also been involved in membership activities, CPA continuing education programs, and a number of other state-wide initiatives for the CPA industry.
