Recently, partnered with Desert Health Care District on providing a grant to expand I the anti-drowning campaign “Ready, Set, Swim” for children ages 0-5 at PS, DHS, and the CC pools. Initially appointed by Supervisor John Benoit; Reappointed January 2019 by Supervisor Manny Perez.

We also funded classroom supply grants, band trips, IB program installation fees, and other programs for a district of over 30,000 students.

When I started as Alumni President in 2000, we had perhaps 15 or 20 people showing up to occasional mixers that didn't mingle or mix, much less talk to each other. By the time I left the post in 2005, we had over 250, recent and seasoned alumni, showing up regularly to local events and showing their pride as a Triton. The local alumni group has continued to grow in size, prestige, and support and I remain an avid…

    Formerly a Legislative Advocate for all ten campuses of the University of California system. Specifically, I represented UCSD as Alumni President for 5 years. Later, I also represented UC Riverside. Instrumental in agreement between Governor Schwarzenegger and UC concerning state funding cuts and continual tuition increases during the “Great Recession” making educational costs unaffordable. Education = jobs and innovation to the State. Win-Win.

As the former Vice-Chair of this Committee, we actively reviewed bond dollars spent on projects including the Palm Springs High School auditorium remodel, solar projects throughout the district, Cathedral City High School's new pool, and Raymond Cree's HVAC system overhaul.
