Voorhees Township, N.J.- The Camden County Prosecutorโs Office Major Crimes Unit and the Voorhees Police Department are investigating the shooting of a Voorhees man on Friday night, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Voorhees Township Police Chief Louis Bordi. On Friday, May 17, 2024, at approximately 11:13 p.m., officers from the Voorhees Township Police Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Route 73 and Cooper Road. Upon arrival, officers observed one of the drivers, a 30-year-old male from Voorhees, was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Cooper University Hospital by an ambulance. The victim remains in treatment at Cooper University Hospital. This investigation is active and ongoing. The Voorhees Police Department is excited to welcome Voorhees youth to participate in our ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ฒ program. The Academy will be held from ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ - ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ค๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐-๐๐. They will attend the Police Administration Building located at 1180 White Horse Road, Voorhees, NJ 08043 for several hours a day over the course of five days. Throughout the week, the children will engage in activities such as drill and ceremony (marching), physical fitness training led by certified police academy fitness instructors, hands-on patrol tactics training involving mock scenarios and car stops, as well as a demonstration from our K-9 Unit.
