After fourteen were selected as finalists for the Eastern Wisconsin Excellence in Education Awards Program, three SASD staff members have won the award.
Last fall, the Sheboygan Area School District welcomed over 65 new teachers. As part of the onboarding process, teachers were matched with a mentor and participated in a revitalized New Teacher Mentor program. Mentor teachers provide support for their mentees throughout their first year, and the pairs also attend fun and informative quarterly support meetings. The meetings provided training based on feedback, time for mentors and mentees to connect on various topics, and also built in some light-hearted fun.
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction recognized the South High School counseling program for showing extraordinary dedication to students and making an impact through their programs.
The findings of an independent traffic impact study for the proposed Urban School site will be shared with the community on Monday, May 6, at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium at Urban Middle School. Representatives from Traffic Analysis & Design, Inc. (TADI) will present the traffic data and findings. Following the presentation, attendees can submit questions to be answered that evening.
