About Asphalt Magic

Asphalt Paving & Seal Coating

The best prices in Texas!

At Asphalt Magic we stand behind our work. Starting with the price!
Say goodbye to huge markups. No job to small for us.

We do it all
from residential driveways to commercial parking lots. Here's a little
history on asphalt and what we do.

What is Asphalt?

Asphalt is a combination of approximately 95% sand, rock or gravel-mixed
with approximately 5% asphalt cement, a product of crude oil.

This mixture is heated and mixed together in an asphalt plant at around
300°F, and hauled to an asphalt paving crew.

The HMA is fed into an asphalt paver placed in a continuous, smooth ribbon
behind the paver where it is rolled and compacted into place. This
continuous flow of material and the flexible nature of asphalt pavements
provide the traveling public with the smooth ride they have come to expect.

The ability to turn traffic onto a newly paved roadway with no “curing” time
means fewer delays, less construction, and safer roads.

Asphalt Magic will beat any asphalt company in San Antonio's price!

No Job to Big or Small

Homeowners often wonder if seal coating their asphalt driveway or walkway is really
necessary if the asphalt appears to be in good condition. To prolong the life of your
driveway, however, seal coating maintenance is needed every three to four years.

Warning
Unsealed asphalt driveways or walkways will crack when water seeps underneath the
surface and freezes. Ultraviolet light rays also break down the asphalt by loosening the
bond between the different components of asphalt, causing your walkway to become
brittle and break.

Benefits
Seal coating shields your asphalt from those damaging ultraviolet rays and prevents water
from penetrating the asphalt. Seal coating also helps your asphalt maintain its black color.

Time Frame
A new asphalt driveway must be sealed within its first year, typically 90 days or longer after
installation. After that, seal coat every three to four years when the old coat wears down.

Tip
"Ask the Builder" advises that you'll know it's time to re-do the seal coat on your asphalt
when it begins to turn from all black to gray.

Types
There are several kinds of seal coating products, including blacktop sealer, refined coal
tar sealer and acrylic polymer sealer. "Ask the Builder" recommends refined coal tar
sealers for home use, since they're moderately priced and last a long time.
