After realizing that decades of outside support, influence and direct aid have failed to solve the problem of poverty in Africa, David Glenwinkel's Village Care has implemented a new approach: helping Africans gain self-sufficiency and take action to solve problems in ailing communities. Their model is now in use in several villages in 13 countries.
