Welcome To The World Of Art Fabrication
Normally when I get asked what I do for a living and I respond that I am an “Art Fabricator”, designer and sculptor my response leads to further questions.
That is Ok, I have grown accustom to it.
What we do, I explain to those listening, is to take and work with any idea that’s been constructed in some-ones imagination and figure out how to recreate it on a very large scale or in any size that you or your clients may want or need.
So the field of “Art fabrication” is as diverse as your imagination can make it. In fact we are constantly adapting and learning new things for no two projects are ever the same.
To get the process started you can bring us your idea in the form of a sketch, a plan drawn out, or a small three dimensional model that represents your projects ideas and theme. We will then take and develop a plan that will reconstruct your idea on a larger scale and return to you an immense - huge copy or representation of your original.
To fabricate art and commercial marketing elements on a large scale requires the talents of an artist, a sculptor and a fine arts painter. But it also requires the skills of a designer, a draftsman, an architect and an engineer. There is writing to be done and project management. It requires the skills of a cabinet maker, a finish carpenter, an electrician, a welder, a mold maker, and even a boat builder.
Working with wood, metal, foam, plastics and urethanes is only the beginning. We may use aluminum, cloth fabrics, and plywood, latex and fiberglass to name just a few. Their is a multitude of materials involved in each project and we are constantly striving to to come up with new approaches. The projects require plenty of epoxy, paint and glues.
So with each new project we find our selves inventing, reinventing, creating, constructing and problem solving each day as we take your ideas and use our experience to build what you have imagined. The excitement of this challenge is what makes the world of art fabricating come alive.
Sincerely looking forward to working with you,
Richmond E. E. Watrous II and Staff
